For over 15 years, I have been an active amateur artist. I have done commissions for friends and family, as well as participated in local art shows around the Calgary area.
My two greatest loves (besides my family) are furry & feathered creatures and creating art.
Since early childhood creativity has been a passion and pursuit. Art has proven to be both my soul's calling and the greaest form of healing for me. Most of the time I make because I can't imagine not doing so. Weather painting, sculpting, baking, knitting or crochet, I thrive on the act of creating.
I currently live in southern Alberta with my husband, son, Italian greyhound and budgie. They are my greatest muses.
I begin each piece with a vision in mind, but allow the materials and my instincts to guide me as I work. I use reference photos, both open source and my own imagination. Every piece I make is completely unique and made from my own spark of creative expression.
I believe that the process of creating art should be just as fulfilling as the finished piece.
I am a self-taught artist who prides herself on the continual quest to learn and grow as a creative. I focus primarily in acrylics in my work. I also love to paint on unusual and found objects. My current favourite inspiration is found in modern folkart & traditional and modern animal and nature portraiture.
I am an avid animal lover, and nature walker and adore making a mess in the studio!
Art is my refuge and greatest form of personal expression.
My art aims to express the beautiful, whimsical, playful and joyful as a celebration for all Gods great creation.
